Publication Ethics

Jurnal Ilmu Kepolisian is published by the Police Science College (STIK PTIK) and serves as a medium for information and a forum for discussing issues related to the study of police science. The journal contains scientific writings, summaries of research results, book reviews, and original ideas that are critical and innovative. It provides opportunities for experts, academics, practitioners, and anyone interested in discussing and writing about various matters related to police science, while communicating their ideas and thoughts with the wider community. The views expressed in Jurnal Ilmu Kepolisian do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the editors. The statement of the scientific code of ethics is upheld by all parties involved in the publication process, including managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. The Code of Ethics for scientific publications fundamentally upholds three ethical values:

  1. Neutrality—free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications.
  2. Justice—granting authorship rights to those entitled to become authors.
  3. Honesty—free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publications.

Publishers Responsibilities:

  1. The publisher of Jurnal Ilmu Kepolisian is responsible for publishing manuscripts after they have undergone the editing, reviewing, and layout processes in accordance with the rules of scientific journal publishing.
  2. The publisher of Jurnal Ilmu Kepolisian guarantees the academic freedom of editors and reviewers in carrying out their respective duties.
  3. The publisher of Jurnal Ilmu Kepolisian is responsible for maintaining privacy and protecting intellectual property, copyright, and editorial freedom.

Editor's Responsibilities:

  1. Editors of Jurnal Ilmu Kepolisian are responsible for deciding which articles should be published based on the editorial board meeting and input from the reviews conducted by the review partners. Editors may consult with review partners in making this decision.
  2. When deciding which manuscripts are worthy of publication, the Editor of Jurnal Ilmu Kepolisian must adhere to the applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.
  3. In the process of reviewing and accepting manuscripts, the editorial team of Jurnal Ilmu Kepolisian follows the principle of equal treatment, making decisions to publish manuscripts without discriminating against the author's race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political ideology.
  4. Editors of Jurnal Ilmu Kepolisian will not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts without the permission of the author.
  5. Unpublished manuscripts will not be used by Editors of Jurnal Ilmu Kepolisian for their own benefit and will be returned directly to the author.

Bestari Partners Responsibilities:

  1. Bestari partners assist editors in making editorial decisions and through editorial communications which are then submitted to authors. The assistance provided by the Bestari partners concern the content review of a manuscript/article.
  2. Each manuscript received for review shall be treated as a confidential document. Manuscripts may not be displayed or discussed with others except as permitted by the editors.
  3. Bestari partners are responsible for the recommendation of the manuscript he or she has reviewed.
  4. The manuscript review is carried out objectively, and is supported by clear arguments.
  5. Bestari partners are responsible for citations, references, duplications, data fabrication, falsification of data and plagiarism of the manuscripts under review.
  6. Bestari partners must always maintain the confidentiality of information and not use information from the manuscripts he has reviewed for personal gain/interest.

Authors Responsibilities:

  1. Authors write the results of his thoughts or research clearly, honestly, and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification and plagiarism.
  2. Authors write down every reference used in the manuscript according to the rules of scientific writing.
  3. Authors can ensure that the manuscript submitted to the Journal has never been published in other media, and is not being sent to other journals.
  4. Authors must agree on the role of each contributor in writing the article and have agreed beforehand on the writing of the main author and co-author.
  5. Authors ensure that research activities are carried out according to the code of ethics.
  6. Authors must provide references from the opinions and works of others cited.
  7. Authors must write manuscripts ethically, honestly and responsibly, in accordance with applicable scientific writing regulations.
